Conservation and Advocacy
Issues

Audubon South Carolina exists to protect birds, wildlife and their habitat. To focus and efficiently utilize our limited resources, we first protect these areas in South Carolina most important (Important Bird Areas), focusing further on areas in our six Habitat Conservation Areas.

Our conservation and advocacy work takes many forms, from lobbying for more funding for state and national forests to preventing a cell tower adjacent to key bird habitat to supporting the closure of bird nesting islands to human use during the nesting season.
